Zoflora can be used:

  • In a spray bottle as a room fragrance and for easier diluted cleaning
  • On a cloth or sponge for surface cleaning
  • In a bucket for floor cleaning

PhotoGrid_1439369769787PhotoGrid_1439368853905

Zoflora can be used neat on ceramics or diluted for other house-hold cleaning. The general dilution rule is 1 part Zoflora to 40 parts water (1 cap of zoflora in 400ml water). For easier reference you can also follow these dilution amounts:

  • Cleaning with a cloth and diluted Zoflora mixture – 4 capfuls in 1.5 litres of water
  • Mopping the floors using a bucket of diluted Zoflora mixture – 4 capfuls in 1.5 litres of water
  • On your toilet brush or on ceramics – 1 capful on a cloth (or poured straight onto the toilet brush)
  • In a spray bottle – 1.5 capfuls added to a full sized trigger spray bottle filled with water

Zoflora can be used to disinfect, clean and freshen the following:

  • In the bathroom including toilet, sink, bath, shower, taps, plugholes, tiles, flooring
  • In the kitchen including worktops, tiles, flooring, inside and outside of bin, handles, cupboard doors, sink, plughole, tap, fridge
  • On tables, chairs and highchairs
  • On pet beds and in litter trays
  • On mattresses (which is brilliant on a childs mattress for nappy leaks and sick scenarios)
  • To mop all floors (apart from real-wood flooring, spray as a room fresher instead to enjoy the fragrance)
  • For a general wipe-down of all surfaces
  • On door handles and light switches (a popular breeding ground for bacteria)
  • As a room freshener (eliminates odours and utilises the anti-bacterial properties in the process)
  • In the wash (helps disinfect clothing even on an economical 30 degree wash, which is great for childrens clothing and it also leaves clothes smelling wonderful)
  • In cars
  • On windows (our children are of ‘window-licking’ age)
  • On pet toys
  • Technical things such as phones, keyboards, computer screens (also helps with static), remote controls etc
  • In a carpet cleaner (for fresh smelling, sanitised carpets)
  • Changing tables and mats
  • On a potty
  • To freshen and disinfect bins (indoors and outdoors)

As you can see, Zoflora is extremely versatile and proves to be a useful cleaning essential, in every family home.

After using this product I can rest, assured that our house is as free of germs as possible for our children and we can all enjoy the beautiful, fresh fragrance everyday. For a household with two adults, two small children and a pet, I’m very impressed with how brilliant Zoflora cleans. Cleaning isn’t as drab as it used to be (well, it’s still not my favourite past-time) being hypnotized by the fabulous scent (which lasts all day – at least!).

Decent and trusted cleaning products can become expensive. This is because there are many different products for many different purposes. Zoflora is extremely cost effective, this is due to the versatility of the product and the dilution amounts, makes a little, go a long way.

For a cost-effective, hygienic, family and pet-friendly way of cleaning, clear out your cleaning cupboard, because all you need is Zoflora!

BareMinerals BareSkin Foundation

PhotoGrid_1438972684510I’ve always been a regular user of BareMinerals along with other brands of make-up that suit sensitive skin. Along with sensitive skin I used to suffer with acne [see here how to reduce acne scars] and I occasionally get breakouts even now (you really don’t grow out of it) so good quality make-up has always been extremely important to me and my skin. I was recommended BareMinerals many years ago by a dermatologist, no less, so of course I had to try it out!

After purchasing their ‘starter kit’ and trialling the make-up, I have since always had BareMinerals of some sort in my make-up bag.

I noticed a while ago their new type of foundation called BareSkin and thoughtwhat, not powder?‘. I have a dabble in liquid foundation here and there, but it’s not often I find something that suits my skin or my skin-tone without it looking ‘cakey’.

I took a bottle of BareSkin foundation home with me to try and instantly I was impressed. It blended in with my skin flawlessly (I have a very pale face, so finding the right match is a struggle). The liquid itself isn’t as thick as most foundations, which made it extremely easy to apply, however, this made me wonder if it would cause oiliness on my skin. Due to how light the liquid foundation is, it can be blended and layered so the coverage becomes what you require. You could opt for a light layer, if you’re nipping to the shops. You could also opt to layer the make-up slightly more than normal, if you have a dreaded spot looming or you are off to an event. About my worry of oiliness, I needn’t have worried! My skin was ‘glowing’ and it continues to glow throughout the day, no sign of oiliness or make-up slip here! I do of course pop a finishing powder over my make-up, in the hopes of preventing any make-up slip.

PhotoGrid_1438952724953

BareSkin also doesn’t leave a trail in the creases of your skin. My creases are around my eyes, many liquid foundations leave thin lines in my ‘wrinkles’, well, in the creases around my eyes when I smile. Thankfully, BareSkin doesn’t do this, so I’m not having to touch up my make-up throughout the day.

I have combination skin, with the occasional ‘breakout’ I would recommend this product for similar skin types. It really does feel like Bare Skin, you wouldn’t know you were wearing make-up and that’s something all of us ladies love to achieve!

MAM Anti-Colic Self-Sterilising Milk Bottles

PhotoGrid_1438595337880

With our first child we originally started using different bottles and he didn’t seem to get on with them. He didn’t consume much milk and sucked the teat in an unusual way. We were then recommended MAM bottles as a high percentage (94%) of babies take to their teats instantly. So I popped a couple in my basket the next time we went shopping. I get strangely excited by things like this, anything new for the children I can’t wait to try out.

I cleaned and sterilised the bottles (we bought the version that can be sterilised in the microwave) filled them with milk and put them to the test. Our son took to them instantly and they fit perfectly into his tiny mouth, I was so pleased! The relief that came across me when he started to finish his milk was lovely, he hadn’t finished a full bottle of milk until now and of course, I kept being told by various people not to worry he will be fine, which is easy to say until it’s your own child.

PhotoGrid_1438595438012

The bottles themselves are brilliant for me as a parent and here’s why:

  • Self-sterilising in the microwave. No more bulky sterilisers kicking about in the kitchen, high five! This also means you don’t need to waste time using the normal steriliser for one or two bottles. 1 bottle takes 3 minutes to sterilise and 1 minute extra for any subsequent bottles (4 bottles = 6 minutes). No parent has time to waste so this is perfect
  • They’re very quick to wash and sterilise which means you’re able to do this in you family or friends’ homes (provided they have a microwave) always handy when we have a playdate or are visiting family!
  • The parts of the bottle all come apart so you can be sure it’s fully cleaned, there are no parts of the bottle which are hard to reach with a bottle brush
  • They come in fun colours and different gorgeous patterns, so of course we have a wide variation of all
  • They’re designed to help reduce colic from a really clever vent system. Our children suffered with colic, reflux and a milk allergy so at least that was one problem we could knock on the head!
  • The teats are really easy to change once your baby needs the next size up
  • The lid is a small measuring cup which is extremely handy when measuring the 20ml for sterilisation

It’s safe to say, after we discovered MAM bottles we didn’t look back. Once our daughter arrived we stocked up on pink and purple and she’s always been a brilliant milk guzzler.

Overall they are a very baby and parent friendly bottle. I would recommend this bottle to any parent or parent-to-be.

MAM Products – Sippy Cup, Cutlery Set, Snack Bowl, Teether

Items for review:

  • 190ml Sippy Cup
  • Cutlery Set (knife, fork and spoon)
  • Snack/Food Bowl (with divider and lid)
  • Bob The Turtle Teether

We’ve put all of the above items to the test for a week. They’ve survived a week of being sucked, chewed and drooled on and are here to tell the tale (or I will on their behalf).

PhotoGrid_1438257201812IMG_20150730_132230

Results After Dishwasher Use

They all cleaned up extremely well in the dishwasher (apart from Bob, he’s natural rubber, so it’s hand-wipe only for him). We eat a lot of tomato and carrot based meals, which are known to discolour other products when they’re washed together, this wasn’t the case with the MAM products. They are just as bright and clear as they were before their numerous dishwasher cycles. Being dishwasher friendly is also a bonus in my book!

Staining After Use With Saucy Foods

We have plenty of childrens cutlery that didn’t survive the staining test when used with saucy foods and have inevitably ended up in the bin. The MAM cutlery set were used daily, my son used the knife and fork (mainly fork) and my daughter used the spoon. So, all pieces of cutlery were used in many different dishes and meals, in thick and stainable sauces. One week later and there isn’t the slightest hint of staining!

The Snack Bowl was used mainly for lunches and snacks (of course). I did fill it with beans twice and no staining again! So, if you’re a parent like me who has a gripe with stained bowls and utensils then you can be confident you won’t with MAM.

Durability

The bowl, bottle and cutlery set were dropped on numerous occasions without resulting in a scratch or a shatter. They weren’t dropped for the sake of the review, only when small hands grasped and threw.

PhotoGrid_1438258792660

Bob the Turtle Teether has been drooled on, gnawed at and washed. The rubber isn’t splitting and he still has plenty of chewing life left in him!

Attractiveness

Bob The Turtle has taken ‘teethers’ up a notch on looks. We received a Purple one (there is also Max the Frog in green and Lucy the Snail in red) the three different latex teethers are individually appropriate for different ages. It’s a very cute and unique design, far trendier than many others on the market. To us it’s just a teether, but to them it’s ‘Bob the Turtle’ who helps relieve their teething pain.

The cutlery set is simple yet stylish with a two-tone green design. There is also blue and pink available but we chose green to keep it neutral for both children.

PhotoGrid_1438257303711

The bowl and lid also has a simple, yet stylish design with a two-toned colouring. We even had positive comments from friends on the bowl!

The sippy cup has a very sleek design with a lovely picture of a cat on the front. It’s very attractive and feminine. There is a blue version with a hippo and a neutral yellow, which features a fox, all adorable designs.

PhotoGrid_1438281951910

Positives of All

Bob The Turtle

  • It’s a very cute design for babies
  • 100% Natural rubber which means it’s completely safe to be sucked and chewed, also making it soft but firm, perfect for teething niggles
  • The donut shape makes it easy for babies to hold
  • Different textures across the surface with plenty of gum-massaging bumps for babies to gnaw on

PhotoGrid_1438257732487

Cutlery Set

  • The chunky handles make it easy for small hands to grip
  • The sets come with knife, fork and spoon which is perfect to learn the skills of chopping, cutting and feeding themselves as they grow

Snack Bowl

  • Can be used for snacks or meals
  • I’m a big fan of bowls and plates with dividers, this separates the beans from the toast, the sandwich from the fruit and any other meal combination you can think of
  • The bowl comes with a lid making it extremely travel friendly and also helps keep the food fresh
  • The bowl itself is deep so I was able to pack a whole sandwich, chopped apple and portion of grapes on our outing, perfect size!

Sippy Cup

  • All sippy cup designs are attractive and sweet for children
  • There is a removable non-drip spout so you can choose non-drip (perfect for the nappy bag or free-range children) or you can choose to have the cup free-flowing which means the cup doesn’t become useless when your baby needs a faster flow (and you’ll still have the option of non-drip should you still need it)
  • It’s designed to be easily gripped by babies and children and there are also accessories you can purchase for these cups, such as handles and spouts

PhotoGrid_1438282017746

Negatives of Two

Bob The Turtle

  • Can’t be washed thoroughly at the risk of ruining the rubber, so an anti-bacterial wipe or a damp cloth, followed by drying will have to do the trick

Sippy Cup

  • The non-drip spout took a bit of getting used to by our baby because the ‘non-drip’ works so well. It did help her learn to sip a bit harder, which isn’t a negative!

Overall I’m very impressed with all of the above MAM products. We have always been loyal MAM users due to their products being so well made, child friendly and adult friendly. Our children are also big fans, especially our baby of Bob the Turtle!

Why Sudocrem Care And Protect Is A Must Have

A few weeks ago I was asked if I would like to try Sudocrem Care and Protect. I replied, yes! Our baby occasionally gets nappy rash, especially when she’s teething and I’ve not yet found a breakthrough that helps.

Nappy rash seems to come up in different ways. When our baby is teething, her nappy rash comes up in red spots across her bum. I can only imagine this must be uncomfortable for her.

I had been using the usual Sudocrem to prevent any infection and to create a barrier between her nappy and skin. I’m not sure if it did what I’d hoped but it certainly didn’t clear the rash.

I wanted to properly test the new Sudocrem Care and Protect before writing a review. I didn’t want to jump in straight away and say it’s amazing, just because someone has been kind enough to send it to me for a trial.

So it’s been around three weeks of testing and I’d like to think that’s long enough for a fair and honest review. Well, it is amazing. After a few days the little spots on her bum started to fade. After just over a week, completely gone! I wasn’t sure what to expect from the cream but I didn’t expect, what I can only describe as ‘a miracle’. In all honesty, I only used it at night too (my toddler likes tubes of things so he would disappear with it and reappear without it) that just proved to me how effective it really is.

PhotoGrid_1437379790092The consistency is much different to the usual Sudocrem we all know. I much prefer it. It’s similar to a gel and absorbs brilliantly into skin. The texture makes it a lot less messy, we would normally end up with white cream smeared over their towels but not with Sudocrem Care and Protect. The cap on the tube makes nappy changing and ointment applying much easier. You can flick it up with you thumb, squirt a tiny amount on the babys bum (tiny is enough), drop the tube and rub in the cream. All while you’re holding you’re babys legs in the air with the other hand.

This cream, by far, is the most effective nappy-rash cream I’ve used and I’ve tested quite a few (a ton) while our baby suffered with nappy rash.

I’m really grateful to have finally found something that works. I probably wouldn’t have bought it myself, thinking it’d be the same as the normal tub of Sudocrem, but in a tube. It’s much more than that, a very different type of cream and extremely effective. A small amount goes a long way, so I can’t see us needing to buy another tube any time soon. Once we run out though, we will be using Sudocrem Care and Protect from now on.

I would really recommend anyone with young children to try this. I’m sure you’ll love this too, so will your childrens bums!

Mrs Goose Designs Bib Review

PhotoGrid_1435483619239 (1)I was asked by Jessica @mrsmummyj From Mrs Goose Designs to Review one of her lovely bibs. Of course I couldn’t refuse. I had a look at the different designs she offered and was very excited to receive the butterfly pattern for my little girl.

I was very pleased when it arrived (very quick arrival) because it was much larger than I though it would be, not to mention 100% organic cotton which is perfect for a baby’s sensitive skin.

PhotoGrid_1435583420283 (1)The bib covers the majority of my daughters front, very handy for those milk dribbles while she has her bottle! It’ll be a bib that will last for many months to come without the worry of it getting tight around her neck or not having enough coverage. Mia is also dribbling like crazy lately due to a bout of teeth pushing their way through, so today I kept the bib on her to catch all of her dribble spillage. Normally I take her out bib-free because none of her bibs can go with many of her outfits but the design of Mrs Goose Designs butterfly bib went perfectly with her pink wardrobe! She also enjoyed having a little nibble on the bib to relieve any teething niggles she was having.

PhotoGrid_1435483564715 (1)The bib overall is very well made, the seams are strong and it feels good quality (100% organic cotton! Did I mention?). The quality of the bib wasn’t compromised after it went through a wash either and the butterfly is still as lovely as it was pre-wash. Another handy thing which I recommend all parents to look out for is poppers! Poppers on a bib is much more convenient than Velcro. No more getting attached to everything in the wash and no more getting attached to everything in general. I also think having a popper at the back of a baby’s neck must be much more comfortable than harsh scratchy Velcro.

PhotoGrid_1435583526820 (1)Thank you Mrs Goose Designs for not only making stylish, cute bibs but practical ones too!

Anything from Mrs Goose Designs will arrive beautifully wrapped in tissue paper and I would recommend any of her T-shirts, bibs, rompers/sleepsuits or baby grows not only for your children but they would also make a perfect gift. There is a range of designs to suit boys, girls and unisex. Anyone would appreciate such a lovely gift and any baby would appreciate the soft material against their skin.

Take a look at her website http://www.mrsgoosedesigns.com/ to find something you’ll love!    PhotoGrid_1435583607563 (1)
