Tuna Pasta Bake

This Tuna pasta bake recipe is baby and toddler approved. It’s such an easy meal to make and cheap too! Serves 3, we split the third adult portion into 2 for our baby and toddler. It can also be frozen.

Ingredients:

Tuna Pasta

  • 1 Chopped Onion
  • Knob of Butter
  • 400g Pasata
  • 100ml Water
  • 1tsp Oregano
  • 2tbsp Plain Flour
  • 1 Tin Tuna Drained
  • 150g Pasta Cooked and drained

Cheese Sauce

  • 1 Chopped onion
  • Knob of Butter
  • 200ml Milk
  • 100ml Water
  • 2tbsp Plain Flour
  • 50g Cheddar Cheese Grated

Method

PhotoGrid_1434994281547Preheat oven to 190 degrees.

Sautee the butter and onion in a pan until the onion softens. Add the pasata, water, oregano and plain flour. Bring to the boil and simmer for 10 mins, stirring frequently. Stir in the tuna and simmer for a few more minutes.

Add the tomato sauce and tuna mix to an oven proof dish and pour the drained pasta over the top.

To make the cheese sauce, sautee the onion in the butter until soft. Pour in half of the milk and add the flour. Gradually add the rest of the milk and water, stirring continuously. Once the sauce has thickened, stir in the cheese then pour over the tuna and pasta.

Bake in the oven for 20 mins until the top starts to turn crispy and golden. Enjoy!
